    Grammar1:Simple Present

    Message par flyme2themoon le Dim 03 Fév 2008, 02:27

The simple present is used :
1 To express a habit ex: Evryday i take a bus at 8:30
2 To express a fact which is always true ex: Cows don't eat meat
3 To express a fact which is always true for a long time ex: I live in algiers

    Form:
Affirmative form : I, YOU, WE, THEY + Verb ex: I read a book
HE, SHE, IT + Verb + S ex: She reads a book
negative form : I, YOU, WE, THEY +DO NOT + Verb ex:They do not travel
HE, SHE, IT + DOES NOT +Verb ex: He does not understand

Interogative form: Do + I, YOU, WE, THEY + Verb ex: Do you want some water?
Does +HE, SHE, IT +Verb ex: Does she need help?

hi admin ! first of all you should write in english...
second , may be this lesson is not too long to do exercises but I con give you one:
write three or four sentences using present simple expressing a habit or a fact , then turn those sentences into negative and interogative forms

    example

the sun rises from the east
does the sun rise from the east
the sun does not rise from the west

Hi rym it's good ! I have just two comments to do :
first of all, in english we don't use present sipmle to express a short action in the present so to say "he takes the plane for the first time" it would be better to say "he is taking.." but you can say "he takes the plane frequently" because here you're expressing a habit
if you have a look on the lesson you'll see in which cases we use the present simple
second comment is : you wrote "does he takes the.." the correct form is "does he take the.."
    it's good rym
